She was known as a "human computer" for her tremendous mathematical capability and ability to work with space trajectories with such little technology and recognition at the time. Her calculations were also essential to the beginning of the Space Shuttle program, and she worked on plans for a mission to Mars. Johnson's work included calculating trajectories, launch windows, and emergency return paths for Project Mercury spaceflights, including those for astronauts Alan Shepard, the first American in space, and John Glenn, the first American in orbit, and rendezvous paths for the Apollo Lunar Module and command module on flights to the Moon. The space agency noted her "historical role as one of the first African-American women to work as a NASA scientist". ![]() ![]() Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) refers to a viable treatment asymptomatic osteoarthritis of the knee refractory to conservative measures. iPACK combined with ACB proves to be a suitable pain management technique after TKA. Meanwhile, the addition of iPACK improves postoperative patients’ activity performance without extra side effects. The addition of iPACK lowers postoperative VAS scores, cumulative morphine consumption, and hospital stays. No difference was found between the patients in the ACB + iPACK Group and ACB Group on postoperative quadriceps muscle strength and the incidence of PONV. We found that patients' hospital stays in the ACB + iPACK Group were significantly shorter than in the ACB Group (95%CI:, P: 0.003). There were significant differences between the patients in the ACB + iPACK Group and ACB Group on the TUG test of POD1 and POD2. The patients in the group of ACB + iPACK performed better in the postoperative range of knee movement (95%CI:, P < 0.00001) and walking distance (95%CI:, P < 0.00001). A differential was discovered to support the ACB + iPACK Group when comparing the two groups on postoperative cumulative morphine consumption (95%CI:, P: 0.0007). There are significant differences between the two groups in VAS score at rest and with activity, and the VAS scores were lower in the ACB + iPACK Group (VAS scores at rest: 95%CI, P < 0.00001. The leader of the productionteam decided that Penney de Jager (leader of the steady showballet connected to TopPop) should improvise some dance moves to the song.Īt the moment the Lust For Life tape was started Penney was all set to go on the stage. After the other planned shootings were done (Nana Mouskouri and Dutch symphonic band Kayak), Pop Still refused to get out of his dressing room. TopPop‘s productionteam tried every different angle to get Pop to cooperate. He was under the assumption he was going to play the song live with a band. He was pissed he had to playback the song. According to various sources he was completely disconnected from this world (so much for sobering up) and in a foul mood. Iggy Pop was going to do his Lust For Life. On October 8th, 1977, recordings were done in the Dutch AVRO studio. In 1996 the song turned into a hit once again, when it was used in the popular movie Trainspotting. The opening lines of the song have become classic and is something I can proclaim in my sleep: The line “that’s like hypnotising chickens” comes straight from the character Johnny Yen of William Buroughs’ novel The Ticket That Exploded. No more beating my brains with the liquor and drugs Bowie wanted to shake his cocaine habit and Pop tried to quit heroin. It hints to the health regime both David Bowie and Iggy Pop upheld, while being in Berlin. The song’s lyrics are the result of free word associations. Guitar player Carlos Alomar said the riff was so dominant, that it was just impossible for anyone to not go along with it. Hunt Sales’ drumbeat accompanied by his brother Tony Sales’ bass made for an irresistible riff. It’s a re-interpretation of the rhythm that was used in the 1966 hits You Can’t Hurry Love by The Supremes and I’m Ready For Love by Martha and the Vandellas. The drumbeat has been used in many songs ever since, but the rhythm wasn’t original. He wrote the progression on ukulele, and he said, ‘Call it Lust For Life, write something up’ The Armed Forces Network “was one of the few things that was in English on the telly and it had this great pulsating riff at the beginning of the news” Bowie and Pop heard it as they were waiting for an episode of the television-series Starsky & Hutch. The rhythm (and the riff) are based on the morse-signals of the Armed Forces Network. ![]() The song is widely known for its drumbeat that opens the song. Root Mean Squared Error Prediction (RMSEP) obtained by cross-validation were 1.6 g.kg-1 and 28 g.kg-1 for organic carbon and clay respectively, with 20 points. The point positions were determined on the basis of a soil brightness index map calculated from the UAS image, in order to distribute the points in areas of contrasted brightness. ![]() The remaining points were used to validate the models. For this, we tested 5 models with a decreasing number of calibration points: 20, 15, 10, 5 and 3 points. The objective was to establish a model that would achieve an acceptable prediction quality using minimum number of points. The soil properties were estimated by partial least squares regression (PLSR) between the laboratory analyses and the multispectral information of the UAS images, with the PLS package of the R software. The multispectral mosaics were calculated using the Agisoft Photoscan® software and all mapping processings were done with the ESRI ArcGIS® 10.3 software. 22 additional GCP were placed around the 3.6 ha area in order to realize a precise georeferencing. a high-end multispectral multiSPEC 4C camera with bandpass colour filters. Ground spectral measurements with a Spectral Evolution® SR-3500 spectroradiometer were made synchronously with the drone flights. approximately at the same time using the fixed-wing UAV senseFly eBee. On each GCP the soil horizons were described and the top soil were sampled for standard physico-chemical analysis. A centimetric Trimble Geo 7x DGPS was used to determine precise GCP positions. 42 ground control points (GCP) were sampled within the 3.6 ha plot. Two multispectral visible near-infrared cameras were used: the AirInov® MultiSPEC 4C® and the Micasense® RedEdge®. The UAS platforms used were the eBee fixed wing provided by Sensefly® flying at an altitude from 60m to 130m and the iris+ 3DR® Quadcopter (from 30m to 100m). An area of 3.6 ha was delimited within the plot and a total of 16 flights were completed. An agricultural plot of 28 ha, located in the western region of Paris France, was studied from March to May 2016. This study propose an operational method for spatial prediction of soil properties (organic carbon, clay) at the scale of the agricultural plot by using UAS imagery. Airborne and satellite remote sensing data have already been used to predict some soil properties but now Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) allow to do many images acquisitions in various field conditions in favour of developing methods for better prediction models construction. Abstract: Soil mapping is expensive and time consuming. ![]() ![]() ![]() We tried out singing bowls from Japan, India, and Egypt! The federal program provided free breakfast and lunch for all students, regardless of their families' income. Since the pandemic aid concluded for the universal meal program, some students have struggled to pay for food while in school, said Assemblymember Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, who has sponsored the proposal. With Americans spending, on average, 7,023 (or 12.5 percent of income) to feed a family of four annually, making more budget-friendly meals is key to cutting down on total food costs.
